Spring Training 2026: Florida Grapefruit League Schedule, Tickets, and More (2026)

Get Ready for Baseball Bliss! Spring Training 2026 is Almost Here, and Florida's Grapefruit League is Your Ticket to the Action!

Hold onto your hats, baseball fans! While we've been busy with updates on the Tampa Bay Rays' stadium, a much more exciting announcement is here: the crack of the bat is about to echo across the nation. Spring Training is officially on its way, bringing with it a fantastic opportunity to catch Major League Baseball games not just around the Tampa Bay region and across Florida, but also in Arizona and even all the way in Tokyo! This year, the excitement is amplified as some games, alongside those in Miami, Houston, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be part of the prestigious World Baseball Classic, showcasing MLB stars representing their home countries.

For our beloved Tampa Bay Rays, the familiar routine begins in Port Charlotte. Pitchers and catchers are set to report on February 12th, with the rest of the team joining them just five days later. Their spring debut is slated for February 21st.

And this is where it gets particularly exciting for Florida baseball enthusiasts: the very same week, training camps will swing open for all of Florida's other MLB teams, forming the renowned Grapefruit League. Six of these teams will be setting up shop right here in the vibrant Tampa Bay area, offering convenient access to top-tier baseball. These include:

  • The New York Yankees at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa
  • The Philadelphia Phillies at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater
  • The Toronto Blue Jays at TD Ballpark in Dunedin
  • The Pittsburgh Pirates at LECOM Park in Bradenton
  • The Baltimore Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota
  • The Detroit Tigers at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland

Meanwhile, another 15 teams will be gearing up for the season in Arizona's Citrus League. But here's where things get even more interesting...

What's New and Exciting for 2026?

This season introduces some thrilling exhibition matchups! On March 3rd and 4th, all MLB teams will participate in games against national teams that are preparing for the World Baseball Classic, which officially kicks off on March 6th. These special games will be held in the Tampa area, featuring:

  • Colombia vs. Pirates at Bradenton on March 3rd, 1:05 p.m.
  • Netherlands vs. Orioles at Sarasota on March 3rd, 1:05 p.m.
  • Panama vs. Yankees at Tampa on March 3rd, 1:05 p.m.
  • Canada vs. Blue Jays in Dunedin on March 3rd, 1:07 p.m.
  • Canada vs. Phillies at Clearwater on March 4th, 1:05 p.m.
  • Colombia vs. Braves at North Port on March 4th, 1:05 p.m.
  • Netherlands vs. Rays at Port Charlotte on March 4th, 1:05 p.m.

And this is the part most people miss: another unique event on the schedule is the Spring Breakout, a series of exhibitions running from March 19th to 22nd. This event is exclusively for the top prospects from each team, giving you a glimpse of the future stars of baseball! Locally, you can catch the Pirates, Orioles, Phillies, and Yankees participating in these exciting prospect games.

For our local Tampa Bay Rays fans, don't forget about the Rays' Fan Fest! This year, it's happening on February 14th from 1 to 5 p.m. While the Tropicana Field undergoes its repairs, the festivities will be held outdoors along 16th Street South. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with the team and fellow fans!

All this builds up to the official start of the regular season on the night of March 26th, with the Yankees taking on the San Francisco Giants. The traditional Opening Day follows the next afternoon with a full slate of 14 games. The Rays will begin their season on the road for nine games before returning to a repaired and renovated Tropicana Field on April 6th to face the Chicago Cubs. It's worth noting that to accommodate the World Baseball Classic, MLB has decided to start the season a week earlier than usual this year.
