The Iron will host Clitheroe in the Fourth Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy.
Scunthorpe United FC has been drawn to play at home against Clitheroe as the competition progresses to the Fourth Round.
Securing progression to this stage marks the Iron’s first-ever advancement to the Fourth Round of the Isuzu Trophy, after their Round Three victory over Peterborough Sports. The draw was conducted this evening.
In their Round Three triumph, United hammered the Turbines 5-0 at the Attis Arena on Saturday. The National League North outfit were overwhelmed as Scunthorpe sealed a five-goal win for the second time this calendar year, following their league victory on Easter Monday. Scorers on the day were Dec Howe, Callum Roberts, Dubem Eze (two), and Max Brogan.
Clitheroe also progressed by overcoming York City in Round Three, winning 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw over 90 minutes. They had previously defeated Chester 1-0 in Round Two and Stockton 4-2 in Round One.
The Fourth Round represents the first open draw of the competition, meaning the Iron could be drawn against any of the remaining 31 teams, following a series of regionalized matches.
Matches are scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026. Further details will be announced as soon as they are available.
But here’s where it gets controversial: this draw opens the door to a wider field and the potential for surprising upsets, underscoring how even a club with a strong home advantage must stay sharp. And this is the part most people miss when predicting Cup runs—the importance of momentum, squad depth, and tactical flexibility in a knockout format.
